Frankisches Bierfest 6-10 Juni Nuernberg

In your case, the Bierfest would ABSOLUTELY be worth a visit. Other destinations in Nürnberg would pale in comparison I'm afraid, both w.r.t. setting (along the outside of the walls of the Burg fortress) and beer. The Gaststätte for the Bärenschanz Bräu might be worth a visit as well as one or the other of the Landbierparadies places. The city isn't great for Bierkeller(s) or Biergarten(s) IMO. < http://www.bierfranken.eu/biergaerten.php?lk=N > is a list for Nürnberg city/district/county.
