Arrived in Windisch last night after a protracted 4 day journey. Sadly, after a decent spell, the weather is a bit iffy. No matter, spent a lovely evening in Roud'n with my host, Charly Kellermann (what a name for a native of Eschawo), later joined by Ludwig and Renate. Anton Heinl (prop of Roud'n)was in usual good form and the place was packed - a pleasant change after empty pubs of west Ireland. The zoigl, of course, was excellent! On the way here, we revisited Leipheim and had several seidlas in Hirschbrau, as well as a good number of bottles with friends in the apartment. What an undiscovered gem is Hirshbrau- if it was in Franken, it would be near the top of people's visit list. Excellent helles and dunkles (2.40), plus good value grub, a friendly atmosphere in a family owned establishment.
