Zum Bierkeller!

You're here? How long? Where? We didn't make it that far yesterday. The heat (32C/90F) made the day a bit slower-going than I'd expected. I should've expected that. There may have been Freibier for "locals" there, being the first day of the season. Did make it to the Forchheimer Kellerwald though, where "most" Keller(s) seem to be open. A Seidla of Hebendanz at the Schlössla Keller half-way between unteren and oberen Kellern was flabby and un-fresh, and about 0,4L instead of a proper pour. It wasn't good enough to warrant getting a top-up. Very young personnel there too, none of whom I recall from previous years. And then a stop at the Winterbauer Keller with St. Georgenbräu, not because I wanted the Kellerbier, but for the malty "Pottensteiner Höllentrunk(?)" that has been on offer there for the last couple of years. We learned the Keller has been sold and renovated, including stairs to upstairs balcony seating. < http://twitpic.com/9erp8f/full > And the new owners don't offer the helles, just Pils, Weizen, and Kellerbier vom Fass. The Kellerbier was as bad as ever, and the Pils as good as ever. Today, not sure. The weather isn't as promising as it was yesterday.
