| Glad to help, Mark. Here is a good overview of the weather trend (http://www.geo-reisecommunity.de/reisen/bayern/klima). It seems to me from that graph that September is the best time to go. Although the trip Ron and I did last summer started the first week of June and it only rained on the first day. This year, we're leaving mid-June and staying a bit longer, so I'm expecting we could have bad weather at least once or twice this time. OTOH, we'll only be in the Fränkische Schweiz for about four days. You also might take a look here: http://www.vgn.de/freizeit/freizeitlinien/ (select "Fränkische Schweiz" from the pull-down menu). The first bus listed "Brauereien Wander Express" will take you to and from some of the walks listed in the brochure. You can, btw, order a paper version of any or all of the brochures and they will post it free to you. Or you can download them in pdf format. BTW, where do live? Ron's heading off to the US this afternoon. |
