Not so cold in USA

Up in the PNW corner of the mainland USA, it's been anything but winterlike lately. Our actual winter (snow, ice, paralyzed city) lasted something like three or four days in January. Yesterday, it hit 60F / 16C in the area, sunny. That will come to an end soon, but it will just go to drippy and wet again ("a fine soft rain," Barry?). The deep-freeze in much of Europe has made international headlines, including rare snowfall much farther south, like in Mediterranean and Adriatic regions, than is ever typical. This will probably not work in our favor come spring and summer, should the dry trend continue, though. We depend on snowpack in the mountains over the winter to keep us not just in water, but in electricity as well.
