| Yes, and with that particular ticket, you can travel not just from NUE - BA, but basically *anywhere* within the VGN, since it's an "all zone" ticket. So for example, you fly in early, buy the TagesTicketPlus, take the new driverless U2 to the Bahnhof, store your bags there, hop on the train in eastwards to Hersbruck, Amberg, or Bayreuth; southwards to Weißenbrug or Gunzenhausen; SW to Ansbach and Jürgenland; west to Rothenburg o.d. Tauber...or anywhere on this tarif map http://vgn.de/media/static/ges_large.gif before heading to Bamberg. (Beware, the map ain't geographically accurate. See how Hallerndorf and Stiebarlimbach, for example, are depicted as lying "northeast" of Forchheim, towards Ebermannstadt.) But if you begin a journey in Bamberg which ends outside of Bamberg, then you use the VGN tickets. This is a great deal for me, since we often travel with our bikes from Bamberger land (outside the old VGN), which requires two Bayern-bike tickets for 9 €. The TagesTicket Plus is a better deal. |
