Preaching to the choir. I don't bother with BJCP and so on so I have no idea what they have to say. I've tended to brew more lagers the last few years after the revelation and inspiration from my visits to Franconia. I've done a decent job but not quite up to par with the real thing but what the hell it's the next best thing without paying $5 a bottle here in Massachusetts. Lately though I've started brewing more APA's and IPA's after my friend from Dogfish sent me a carton of hops from the brewery. I'm curious, if there is another Pilsener in Franconia that you like more than Keesman? I was hopeful about Lieberth but was dissapointed with it on my visit to Kreuzberg this year. It was funny though I brought my friends from Hamburg to visit Bamberg and introduced them to Keesman and they didn't like it. They prefer Konig and Astra (gak!). At least Konig is drinkable, Astra is one of the most vile German beers I've ever tasted but neither are nearly as good as Keesman in my opinion. I don't think Jever is exported to the US yet. I've never seen it. I suppose I should try it someday.
