Micro-planning for a trip to Kreuzberg

Peter A., who infrequently posts here, and the lovely Eileen, just did this yesterday. I met them at the S'limbacher Bushaltestelle (stop), and they were the only people on the bus, which departed Forchheim ZOB at 12:20. (But it's also summer break.) The connection Jimbo mentions at Eggolsheim Bf (in Neuses) only happens once a day on schooldays, otherwise you take it from Forchheim. And the price is 7.20 € round trip, but you can get a TagesTicket Plus for 9.20 €, which is good for two people and a most excellent deal. The walk up the hill is about a 10% gradient, and about 3/4 km long. And don't forget Fred's WikiThingy! http://franconia.wikia.com/wiki/KreuzbergHall Some decent info there. If you ask for "Kreuzberg", he might think you want the "Kellerberg" stop in Hallerndorf, which is at the Lieberth Dorfkeller, but not at the Kreuzberg. See the 265 route here: http://vgn.de/efa9/efa97/roccas/ROP/00006061.pdf and the timetable here: http://vgn.de/efa9/efa97/roccas/TTB/00007860.pdf Don't get off at the stop in Schnaid, no matter how tempting Brauerei Friedel looks up there; chances are it'll be closed and you'll then have a mile or so to hike to the Kreuzberg. The stretch from Hallerndorf up to Schnaid will afford you a view of the Kberg on your left. It's really a nice bit of countryside.
