Bahn closure: bus stop locations
Posted by Nick B on 2009-08-09 02:47:06
I THINK the stops in B'heim and E'heim are right near the stations; at least, I've seen buses stop there in the past. The work being done is limited to the station houses and platforms, that is, nothing's being done to the tracks, so road crossings should be unaffected by the work. I have seen the SEV buses at Forchheim (at the ZOB in front of the Bahnhof) and in Baiersdorf (right at the Bahnhof), but honestly have no idea about Strullendorf. And the buses I've seen have been running fairly empty. On Friday, I took the ~17:30 RE from Forchheim to Erlangen --after an afternoon at Roppelt's Keller, of course. The train was startlingly empty. No one seems to be using the RE's, maybe because there are so many SEV buses running. Then again, it is August, so half of the country is off to Mallorca... There is only one track open between FO and N-berg, while they tear up and rebuild the platforms. The work being done at FO is pretty dramatic--that entire platform 2 & 3 is *gone*. The guy answering questions on platform 4&5 didn't know whether a lift will be installed. No work seems to be being done at Erlangen, I suppose the platforms are already the right form for S-Bahn trains.
