Bike newbie seeks advice

Thanks, Nick. Bamberg-Geisfeld is one of the trips I am thinking about. It's a bit too far to walk, and public transport connections are patchy if you want to visit the keller. If it is doable by cycle paths, it sounds an ideal trip to build up ones confidence on a bike. I found this Bamberg-Geisfeld route on the web. http://www.in-franken-wandern.de/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=332&page=1 Is this the route you are mentioned? I imagine that canal tow-path would be a safe and easy route out of Bamberg. To Bischberg and Viereth in the North, and Hirschaid in the South. Mike
