Kulmbacher Bierwoche

Hey Uncle, I posted that little blurb over on BA. If you've been to Oktoberfest and enjoyed it, then the Kulmbacher Bierwoche would be pleasant diversion from Annafest, especially if the weather is crappy on one of the days. God bless beer tents! I was at the bierwoche in 2006, and they offered four beers in the beer tent...Kulmbacher festbier, EKU festbier, Mönchshof festbier, and Kapuziner weissbier. Each was served from a different corner of the tent. To me there was a difference in the festbiers, so I'm not convinced they all came from the same tank! ;) The fest itself basically consists of the one beer tent(so much much much smaller than O-fest, though some dancing does take place on benches later in the evening), maybe 4,000 to 5,000 seats? Some food stands are located outside of the tent, as well as a biergarten / outdoor drinking area. Also, Trebgast, with their Brauerei Haberstumpf, is only a 20 minute train ride away. But with the tap's limited and or late opening times, it may be difficult to visit Trebagast and the Bierwoche on a daytrip from Bamberg/ Forchheim. The wife and I will be taking the train up to Kulmbach for the Bierwoche, though I am not sure on what day. It will depend on the weather a bit, but should be between July 28-30. If we plan on going the same day, then we will have to try all of the beers to determine if they come from the same tank. For research purposes only.
