I was joking, of course. I would cheerfully trade the vast majority of German breweries for one or two of the best breweries whose beers I've had the pleasure of encountering in England. (Let me keep Roppelt and Griess though. Maybe also Buttenheimer Löwenbräu.) Have you had Phoenix and/or Lee's? These were the best two I found whilst in Manchester a couple of years ago. I do so dearly, dearly miss good bitter!
