Drinking a Schlammersdorfer Landbier as I type...

I differentiate: - "KEG". Look at the image of a "KEG": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keg Some smaller breweries can not wash and fill these KEGs. So the Wizgall-Bräu. "KEGs" are easier to connect. There are different kinds of "KEG-Köpfe" (connecteurs). Look: http://www.bierzapfen.de/webshop/?target=hauptgruppe&id=78 - "Fass" (cask) (the common technology until 1960/1980). You can use it with gravity fed or with a "Stechdegen" and gaz. An image of a "Stechdegen": http://www.schankanlagen-koch.de/Schankanlagen/images/product_images/thumbnail_images/257_0.jpg The Witz-Bräu can fill such casks but no "KEGs". But we don't want to use such "Stechdegen" at Café Abseits (it's not so easy to connect than KEGs). And for gravity fed we have not enough place behind the bar. The bottles of the Witzgall-Bräu have a declared minimum durability of three months. Additional informtion: We don't use CO2 but a mix of nitrogen gaz and CO2 to avoid over-carbonation (Aligal 13 of Air Liquide). You can tap a KEG some days without over-carbonation (Wikipedia says: until 120 days). We need perhaps 1 day or 2 days for Mönchsambacher Lager (50 and 30 Liter-KEGs), Huppendorfer Vollbier (30 Liter-KEGs) und Huppendorfer Weizen (20,5 Liter-KEGs) and 1 to 4 days for the beer of the months (depending on the popularity and the volume of the KEGs).
