| Yes exactly, it's a clever system. Even with these cheap land-line phones (Festnetz-Apparate, which I use all the day), where you just push in the numbers and don't have a call-button to push, I never had a problem of dialling to slow or making a pause between numbers. Not in the last 50 years. You can't say it's not standardized - it's just a different standard here in old Germany, and it works well. By the way, the real big cities (in relation to German city sizes) have a three-digit city code, like 089 for Munic. Best wishes, gerd |
