Recession making German beer cheaper?

According to 'Sueddeutsche Zeitung', one day after the statement from Wolfgang Burgard (which by the way is also chief of Carlsberg Germany and was formerly chief of Holsten), Lothar Ebbertz, president of the Bavarian brewers association (Bayerischer Brauerbund), said due to prices of raw materials and energy and a 3% increase in wages there is no room for any beer price decrease. He called Burgard's statement "dishonest". But let's wait and see. May I ask a question about "The Local": How influential is this site, and how is it valued as a source of information?
