OberFranken North recommendations (and beyond)

That's more northern Franconia I'd think. You might even venture across the Thuringian border, to Steinach. Anker Bräu is worth a visit. A bit further out is Schmitt-Bräu in Singen, they brew every Tuesday, and still operate a steam engine IFAIK.
