Dry hopping and Reinheitsgebot

Dry hopping is questionable in the Reinheitsgebot. AFAIK it is officially not allowed. But it might also be related to a risk of infection (based on education by Weihenstephan, Doemens et al.) - no sterilisation of the hop by the boiling of the wort.
