Why only interested in Bamberg beer?

For me the main reasons to pick Bamberg are: - it's a beautiful and very intersting city; - it is the center of a large cluster of breweries; - it has (relatively) good public transport connections. That does not mean I won't go to other places in or near Franconia (-> Oberpfalz), just not that often.
