culinary peculiarities

I've been here a few years (yes, I know, stuck in miserable Erlangen instead of a real place like Oberfranken!) now, and while I do love good fränkische Küche (here "Küche" == "cuisine", as opposed to "kitchen"), I'd trade it for Oregonian cuisine in a heartbeat. Same goes for the weather/climate. But let me keep the Italian, Greek, Türkisch, and other foreign cuisines we enjoy here--except the Asian ones. I do miss proper Asian cuisine from the US west coast. I shan't opine on whether I'd trade all the Kellerbier in Franken for some nice English bitter and mild though, out of deference to the intent of this illustrious board! ;)
