Taxis

I can speak enough German to get by so it should be OK (improving all the time). Yes, as you suggest, I didn't expect to have any difficulty getting out to the middle of nowhere by taxi. It's the getting back that is often more troublesome. I had a vision of asking the waiter/waitress/owner only to be told "taxi, here, this time of night, impossible!" But I suppose with a couple of Bamberg taxi numbers as backup it shouldn't be a problem.
