Kulmbach beer fest? (and other beer fests) |

| JosB, are you familiar enough w/ Kulmbach to be able to recommend a reasonable place to stay, around July 29th or 30th? And I guess my same question would apply to Forchheim around July 27th and 28th. I also must admit that I have enjoyed Munich's big O, but I also love sitting in a small brewery's tap room eating some good food and drinking their delicious beer. This is among my goals when we visit Franconia. I may have been to the beer fest you described in Nurnberg. It might have been called something like the "Altstadtfest". It had a bunch of small buildings set up, some w/ music and all with beer, of course. I tried several beers that I have never heard of before, such as Lederer, Lammsbrau, and Spalter. I was there on September 26th, 2004. We are very much looking forward to our trip to Franconia. Our child care issues are pretty much taken care of, and I am hoping that the current price of roundtrip airfare ($1,100.00 per person) will start dropping. If it doesn't go down, I will really have to start working some overtime! Chris |
