| Bamberg actually has two larger maltsters -- Weyermann and Bamberger Malzerei. Most of the area's breweries use one or the other, except for places like Schlenkerla and Spezial who malt their own (and even they some "outside" malts). Weyermann is an interesting place. Sabine Weyermann, the current president, lives with her husband and children on the top couple floors of the administration building. They don't do regular public tours and people have had mixed results arranging private ones. |
