Christmas in Bamberg

I'm toying with the idea of visiting Bamberg over Christmas time -- in the week between Christmas Day and New Years Eve. Some questions: Is this a busy time, or do a lot of the breweries close down over Christmas? Any special beers at this time of year? The kellers -- do they remain open/have heated outdoor areas/indoor bar areas? Mike
