| I am glad, that you obviously see the difference between franconia and bavaria. A lot of franconians are unfortunate with the fact, that franconia is part of the "Bundesland Bayern", which is a centralstate an includes bavaria, the biggest part of franconia and a smaller part of swabia. I believe, that 12 Mio. population ist too much for a federalstate. The optimal size is about 5 Mio. To you have similar problems ? What is the average population in a an US-State?
