There have been recent changes regarding the Bayern Ticket so here is an undate based on the webpage. Group of up to 5: 26Euro (online 24) 1 Person alone: 19Euro (online 17) Monday to Friday: 9am to 3am next day Saturday, Sunday and Bavarian holidays: midnight to 3am next day Not valid in ICE, IC, EC, D trains (i.e. express trains) Valid on RE, RB, IRE, S-Bahn trains. Travel throughout Bavaria but also to the following neighbouring places: Ulm Hbf, Kufstein, Salzburg, on the Ausserfernbahn and on the Lindau-Memmingen route via Kisslegg. Also, in the following city travel zones, you can use buses, trams underground and S-Bahn: Augsburg (AVV), Würzburg (VVM), München (MVV), Nürnberg (VGN) Regensburg (RVV) Bavarian part of the Verkehrsgemeinschaft am Bayerischen Untermain (VAB) The ticket is also valid on buses of the: OVF, KOB, RBO, RVO, RVA und RBS. For those travelling in Franken the OVF buses are the ones of interest as these are the ones running around to the small villages (albeit with timetables suitable mostly for taking and collecting school children). The Bamberg city bus is not included. For train information use the DB web site (choose the English option) and don't forget to choose the Means of Transport option for only local transport. This does not mean you want to travel just a short distance but that you want to use the non-express trains. All your checks of times can be done online in advance but can also be done on the machines at most stations (a printout option is available on the machines). Of the 340 Franconian breweries that I have visited the vast majority of trips were done with public transport (with a bit of walking as well) so it can be done! Have fun Paddy
