Schlappenfest in Hof

Has anyone ever heard of this? I was fortunate enough to be in Germany for this event last year and will be there again this year. This is an annual event that is sponsored by the Zeltbraeu brewery. The only beer that is served is a "special" brew just for this event. I just wondered if anyone else had ever heard of it.
