Annafest in Forchheim

The Annafest is one of the "Keller" fests that I know of. The Kellerwald still has some 28 Keller, some of which are open all year, some other are open only during the fest. Although it is a very big fest (I estimate that per day some 10.000 visitors may be present), you never are aware that it is a big fest - it has a small scale character, as the crowd is distributed over a quite large area . There is a quite wide range of beers available, although not all are traditional for the area (wheat beer is getting more widely available, although it is not *really* a traditional franconian beer). Let's hope that they don't switch to alcopops.
