So the barrel was tapped last Saturday and any fears of infection/souring were quickly dispersed. It was very enjoyable, low on CO2 but enough. The Mönchsambacher lager I've had at home have also been lower than average so it makes sense. It was slightly different, more rustic maybe, enough to make it an interesting project again. We will try another brewery in he near future. Of course if you want to experiment and tweak the details you need to use the same beer. In the future we might get more barrels and then really test what a longer lagering etc would bring. |
