| To be honest, I'm not sure if I would go as far as to say his actions are "destroying the place". the pub is still a great place, it's just the beer is inconsisent and often poor. It is even more noteworthy because of how good both the Helles and the U were. Even if the barrels were real, if the beer is poor it won't taste any better. I know that some of the locals have moved across to Keesmann, but the place remains popular. The anstich is very popular among students and being a greedy so and so he just wants to make a quick buck out of it. He'll say that have live bands playing. They have the U in little 0,33 bottles and they cost pretty much the same as the bottles of 0,5 - riddle me that one. But people still buy them, which probably says as much about their guilability to marketing gimmickry than anything else. I have no eveidence as to the success of the company financially but I would be surprised if it isn't doing very well, Herr Michel is no fool. |
