| My wife and I attempted to visit the brewery last year on the way to Wuerzburg. Sadly, when we arrived at the opening time, the place was deserted. Upon calling the numbers for the brewery and Gaststaette, no one answered the phone. The latter did not appear to be in operation anymore. Despite the inconvenience, we decided to make a day out of our trip and drove to Brauerei Duell in Gnostadt instead. While there, the folks at Duell mentioned that this type of behavior was pretty typical for the brewer at Wolf and that he is more interested in various agricultural products than operating a brewery. To give you some perspective, it was the first time in my brewery travels in Franconia that I had heard one brewery openly say negative things about another small competitor. If you do plan to visit Brauerei Wolf, make sure that you actually get in touch with the brewery beforehand and arrange a time for a visit. We were disappointed, but I would be interested to learn if it is still in operation. |
