OT: craft breweries in Ireland & Sam Smith's again

Wait. YOU developed Wrassler? Well done if so!

Reminds me of the story of how Humphrey Smith dropped Guinness from his pubs. [googles] Ah yes, apparently two versions of the story, copied & pasted  from the Tandleman blog

V1: Someone I know who drinks in one of their pubs in Manchester told me that Sam Smith's draught stout is a result of one of the brothers having a row on the golf course with the Guinness rep for the North of England.

V2: The version I heard was that in the course of Guinness trying to convince Humphrey that yes, he would have to pay the new increased price for Guinness and no, there was no room for negotiation, the rep made the fatal mistake of saying "You need Guinness more than Guinness needs you." Whereupon Humphrey put the phone down, called his head brewer and told him to start brewing stout.

In those comments, it's mentioned that Humphrey's son Sam is quite a good egg, compared to his rather eccentric father. Our Own Gerhard has met him, as he was out touring the world, learning about beer here and there.

I asked the manager of the wonderful [hmm...name forgotten] SS pub at the south end of London's Tower Bridge about whether son Sam might change things up a bit when he takes over. "No, sir, not a chance. He's a fine young man, but just as conservative as his dad." Or words to that effect. Young Sam is apparently the regional manager for London, so this manager has lots to do with him.
