I've still never used either system, in Forchheim or Bamberg, so I don't have direct experience. It sounds like you order (by phone, in advance) a taxi to collect you at one bus stop and bring you to another bus stop, outside normal bus service hours. And so you must pay a fee for this convenience, on top of a normal bus ticket. It is cheaper than a "simple" taxi ride, but of course not as convenient: you must be collected and dropped at bus stops, not just any old place in the countryside. I suspect the average telephone operator at either location (Bamberg or Forchheim) might understand English well enough to accomplish this, as long as you use very simple English to request it. But of course if you can pronounce "von / nach" and the bus stop names, as well as the time, it would help immensely. "Von Stiebarlimbach nach Forchheim Bahnhof um ein-und-zwanzig Uhr" |
