I didn't see your comments as confrontational for what it's worth but I felt the need to clarify anyhow.

The comment about "another notch in the r8beer belt".  Yes I was talking about you and your friends and anyone else that the shoe fits.  It's an accurate statement I think (at the very least based on your own previous comments today) and I've also made it clear that I personally don't see anything wrong with it and am not being judgemental about it.  It's a hobby.  It's a fine hobby IMO.  One of mine is hiking/walking from brewery to brewery and bier kellers.  Not only in Franconia but places in the US like Denver or Chicago or wherever I happen to travel.  Oh I get you do it for more than the beer.  Many of these places are beautiful and amazing settings to drink a beer.  Let's face it none of us from the US travel all that way just for the beer I don't think.  Okay so I should have modified my statement to "partially so I can add another notch to my r8beer belt" instead of "just so".  Believe me it was mostly me trying to make a point to Nick and not so much a dig at you and your friends.  Okay it was a slight dig at you r8beer HIPSTERS!!!  There I got it off my chest :)

So I don't think there's a lot of assumptions being made really.  Even Andy's "consuming lots of beer" comment I take to be a fair dose of tongue in cheek.

I'll let others caution you about drinking and driving if they so choose.  It's not going to come from me.  I just don't want people assuming most Americans do this.
