Yes, correct, the EHIC is (as far as i understand) for those travelling abroad temporarily. You are also required to be in the social system in the country you're living and working in so there is no way round it for me. Even if I had one I would still need permanent health cover in Germany as I would no longer be a resident of the UK. The term 'banker' is a rather broad one :) I have never worked in a bank, though I work with banks. These days the requirements for opening accounts have never been more stringent, though for simple current accounts for individuals it should be fairly painless. I have seen these advertisements but they are generally for indiviuals with more wealth than I have or charge a high fee (i.e. Deutsche Bank). Though I think there are some that might be fine, I prefer the personal touch. |
