| Two years ago, took the box set on holiday with us. Watched a few episodes but not as funny as when first broadcast. I'm afraid it's got a bit dated now. A few items are classics (e.g. Lumberjack Song, Dead Parrot) but too many episodes seem rooted in the past and have lost their sting. Also pretty misogynistic. My father used to call it public schoolboy humour and I'm afraid that there's a lot of truth in this. Contemporary real life is much more absurd than fiction. For example, Welsh pubs having extensive menus for 'Doggy Kibbles'! What think you? |
