Herold in Büchenbach, Schmausenkeller |

You could've taken the coach to Bamberg today, Herold in Büchenbach was quite lovely and veggie eats quite good. And the beer was a nice, soft, Braunbier of only 4.6%. Then the train back. Yes, the Schmausenkeller would be nice, but then it is a big operation a la Roppelt. So maybe you wouldn't like it, but you should see for yourself. The beer has lots of "character". I may make it to Bischberg with part of the group tomorrow, and/or Geisfeld with Uncle Jimbo, or the Annafest in the evening, but there's also an Englishman I "know" from the internets arriving in Bamberg that I'd like to meet. So tomorrow might be a busy day for me, or I might chuck it all and stay out of the predicted 32° heat. That was one thing about my time in Oregon: Yanks do know how to operate an air conditioner when it's 35°+. |
