I don't understand this - the principle of U is that excess CO2 (the stuff produced naturally duing fermentation) is allowed to escape. And to repeat, I was told that the added gas was 70% NO2 and 30% CO2, to limit the amount of gas absorbed into the liquid - but there is still some, I know, I tasted it! So, what is the point of producing U and, surely, the current policy is really quite fraudulent. After writing good things about my first visit to Mahrs, it seems to be just another tale of broken promises. Just who are these people who like their beer colder? Maybe they are the same people who like their Schlenkerla Marzen less smoky. Unlike my good friend Mark, if it is an end to BA U, it will be the last time I visit Mahrs and maybe an end to visits to Schlenkerla. In fact, the future for visits to Bamberg itself is under real consideration. |
