New Beer from Holzlein |

| I have been in contact with Brauerei Holzlein in Lohndorf asking about when their Bock is available until. They mentioned that they are releasing a spezial pils bier on May 01, no other details (bottled/draught etc) but I will hopefully be trying it when I next visit on May 5th. Having enjoyed many a Bohemian Pilsner I must say the German varients don't really compare (albeit generally fine with some notable stand outs) but I have high hopes given the quality of the Holzlein brewery which I would put in my top 5 German breweries full stop. I remember that they have a young (mid twenties) brewer at the helm, Johann Holzlein, so perhaps this will be one of a number of future specials.Whatever happens, their regular Vollbier is sheer class, so the brewery is always a must visit on my trips to Franconia. |
