| Is there no one who has an account with Weyermann that you know who could include your order with their's? Pity you don't live near Eschawo as I guess that one of Zoigl people would have done that for you. Not anywhere near as exciting or adventurous as your brewing news, but I finally got round to bottling my 'Christmas Special' last Saturday night! This was made up of a nut brown ale malt extract, to which I added small handfuls of Cascade & Northern Brewer hops in a completely random manner (!). I only made 15 litres instead of the 25 in the recipe, so ended up with an OG of 1055 instead of 1045. I've been drinking a little direct from the brew vessel (via a glass of course) and it has got steadily more fruity but with a more hoppy flavour trhan you'd expect from a brown ale. Can't think what it might be compared to but it was supposed to be something like Old Tom or the like. Be interesting to see what it tastes like in a few months with a bit of secondary fermentation. I added a few of those carbonating sugar thingys to help kick start secondary fermentation - primary fermentation was getting fairly slow as it had been in the bucket for more than 2 months. |
