Yeah but I think the point some are making here including me is why not expand on your own styles. The problem in Germany seems to be widespread bland Pilseners throughout much of the country. Why not more of the styles that we see in Franconia or analyze and bring back the brewing that was done in other parts of the country before it got dumbed down. Is brewing IPA's and Porters going to fix the problem? I doubt it. I have no problem one way or the other with a German brewery doing IPA's if that's what they want to try. But I don't know that that is the solution to their problem. Maybe if there were more hoppy Kellerbiers and Ungespundet lagers nationwide or even Altbiers or nice malty copper/brownish Vollbiers like we see in Franconia? |
