Hi Juergen - must take a look at this, Scotland's beer has moved a long way in a short time. Less than 5 years ago, it was almost impossible to get a decent pint around Newton Stewart (Dumfries), with the only outlet for rela ale being a hotel. Wonder what it's like now? Do recall spending a nice hour in a pub in Dumfries town - good beer range and very friendly people - even to a Sassenach! The Wetherspoon's in Ayr was a welcome relief in what appeared to be real ale desert. |
