| thank you, DonS! i haven't seen all of DE (my plan to).... your experience is invaluable which i need for future visits :) walked into a little Metzgerei today... the sight and smokey meat smell left me speechless. an employee said 'bitte schön?' but i didn't seem to hear her. hand was still in my woolen mitten which was over my mouth as if trying to supress an unvolutary sound of utter amazement. luckily the creature came to my rescue (saying i like the shop and want to buy all their smoked meats -jokingly-). we ordered several different smoked sausages and asked for permission to make some photos, which was gladly granted. we're enjoying the smoked sausages now. my little emotional display in the Metzgerei earlier is being mentioned once again by the creature. a question to DonS and everyone: where did you have the best food in DE? i really enjoyed smoked fish in Lübeck and Lüneburg, so yeah, at least it wasn't for nothing after all :) Zum Wohl! |
