OT: learning German

Your bit about reading stuff brings this up: Deutsch Perfekt magazine. Reading normal German publications is maybe not as efficient a way to learn as reading things intended for learning the language, because the former is written by people using colloqualisms and all kinds of stuff that you kind of have to be either an expert or really familiar with the cultural background of the subject. Keep it simple. You mean you write in English what you interpret from Jürgen or Gerhard and then translate that into German to check? Interesting. Online translaters suck though...well, I guess if you know that going in...gotta go drink beer now.
