Don't worry about the 'male' atmosphere in Neder, there are plenty of females who go in there, of all ages.  Most of the men are older working guys who are friendly, although they do drink a lot.  Also, the lady who mostly runs the bar is really nice and often talked to us - in a couple of weeks, we became regulars and just part of the scene.  Similarly Hebendanz is just a working class pub like many in my home city, with really good people who run it.

For good solid pubs and excellent beer, Forchheim takes some beating, plus is a really pretty small town. Ok, maybe lacks the absolute magic of Bamberg (which is maybe collapsing under mass tourism) but, when it comes down to it, IMHO, once you've seen them a couple of times, there are only 3 breweries really worth frequenting regularly.

Never been to Rothenburg but appreciate it is a must for sheer historic appeal but do try to get to Forchheim - sure you won't regret it and it's only 30 minutes and €14.60 for 2 people on the train.

Must see if I can get a job with the tourist office, maybe double up with my duties for Eschawo!
