I guess handpumps do take a bit of practice.

Interesting to note in the photo that the 2 IPA's are 6% and 7%. Here's a bit from Frank Baillie:

Pale ale embraces a whole family of beers pr it may refer more specifically to a bottled ale and some brewers call their draught bitter by this name ... India Pale Ale is a name still used by some brewers and it is a pale ale or bitter often above average strength.

But not by these ridculous amounts! Given that most bitters were in the range 3.8 - 4.5% (Frank actually quotes the avery OG to be 1037), I guess that the IPA's were around 4.8% - certainly less than 5% - though Frank quotes a range of 4 - 6.5% of alcohol by volume. I don't actually recall a draught beer of more than 5% and only bottled barley wines exceeded that figure.
