Meh. The Rote Ochse beer had more "homebrew twang" than I've encountered since the last time I judged a homebrew competition in the 90's! Barely drinkable, but I was thirsty and eating (weißer Käs' mit Bratkartoffeln). Across at Reinwandt, it was much better, quite good really, though the young tablemates found it "cola-sweetish". Kids. You were spot-on with pointing out how lovely Seßlach is though! The town is worth visiting even if the beer might be a bit dodgy. Never thought to ask to see where the Brauhaus is. Then on to Mürsbach, where the Kellerbier was sweet with Cheerios notes. Finished only half of the Seidla. Lovely riding though, 45 km from Ebern to Seßlach (passing by Scharpf with their Ruhetag) and then down to Breitengüßbach. You can really go a bloody long way on a VGN Tagesticket these days! |
