| Well, Nick, the plan was to visit Gasthof Reinwand (Kommunbrauhaus Sesslach), Brauerei Scharpf - Heilgersdorf, Brauerei Goldener Adler - Höfen and Schwanen-Bräu Ebing. Visiting Sesslach, we even were invited by the brewmaster to have a look at the ancient Brauhaus. He was brewing Reinwand beer at the moment and gave us a nice free sample. Heilgersdorf and Höfen: Both breweries were closed, the families were on vacation. Shame. But finally Ebing was open and we had a nice afternoon with great dark Vollbier the way I like it best - malty, dry and with a cereal aftertaste -, a herd of elderly ladies and Nick's nice little jumpy dog Tabor. |
