| Just a few things I've heard/seen on this trip: The building were Mondschein is has been sold, apparently to Fässla. That will improve the everyday beer selection except the Monday night Hölzlein will surely be gone. Next door, the Blaue Glocke has closed, as that build was also sold (don't know to who). That is a shame because they regularly had Griess Kellerbier and I'm not sure there is another outlet in the Altstadt. The building on Sandstrasse where Brez'la is (Pizza by the slice window across from Pizzini) also has been sold and Brez'la will close. I gather the same person now owns three buildings so something bigger may be going in. The Rotenschild (upstairs from Stilbruch, the former Blues Bar) puts a gravity barrel on the bar on weekends (and weekdays before holidays). Can be Mönschsambacher Lager or Metzgerbräu. Other times they have bottles of Mönschsambacher and the usual Bamberg beers (Keesmann, Schlenkerla, etc) The Hofcafe (upstairs at Austrasse 14) has Sauer Rossdorf Braunbier. I haven't been there for a few years so I don't know how long it's been there. Heska at Austrasse 10 looks to be closed. They've had various beers over the years (and I think pub has had different names). The current sign was for Reh from Lohndorf. More I'm sure, but that is what I remember for now :) |
