Brauerei-Gasthof Leicht

The relatively simplistic vollbier here was okay, but nothing to write home about. It had that soured-fruit character, a defect, albeit quite subtle and sometimes more tolerable as in this case, which I sometimes find in Franconian lager. But their non-traditional menu items offered quite the welcome change of pace-- chicken, pate on toast, and the house specialty: marinated mackerel served with onion, caper and a sweet cream sauce. The fish, especially, was well-prepared and wonderfully clean-tasting!
