| Jim, Jim, Jim. All those beers I've listed are the ones which I will compare the Edelstoff with! In general, I find Hofbräu and Augustiner Hell(s) to be the best of the Münchner lot: some modicum of enjoyable maltiness, somewhat balanced with hops. Not enough of either, mind you, but still. Could well have been the Mönchsof Landbier you had; I *think* it appears vom Fass here and there, as opposed to the Lager, which I don't think I've ever seen. Yes, it's sweet, you palate was finely tuned that day. Sweet, but drinkable, in a pinch. Their Festbier is also on the sweetside, but also drinkable enough, considering how big the brewery is. |
